Returning from Easter Break Today the angels came back and joined me in the classroom after 10 sugar filled days of no reading, writing or ‘rithmatic. One of my sweethearts has a broken leg and mom said it will be seven weeks in a cast. So, the wheelchair is parked in my room. The kids started out by arguing who was going to push it. I was standing right there! They argued like it was their decision to make. I quietly asked, “who here has a driver’s license?” All were silent, I quietly raised my hand and said “well, I guess I am the only one who can drive the chair.” Then as I pushed her out to the hall to go to morning program I nicked the door jamb. I heard someone say from behind me, “I hope she doesn’t drive her car like that.” Ya gotta love five year olds. So it begins, the countdown to summer vacation…weekdays only…. April - 14 days May – 19 days June – 17 days Totaling 50 days I am doing kindergarten screening on Friday, so I am sure I will have some real eye opening experiences.
